Fantasy: Top Shooting Guards 2009-10

Hoops World — HOOPSWORLD's own resident fantasy guru Tommy Beer provided a position-by-position breakdown of the NBA's top performers right before the start of the season, as well as compiling an overall TOP 100 Fantasy list . With fantasy playoffs in sight, we wanted to take a look at those preseason predictions by comparing each player's current cumulative rank to their preseason placing. This will be interesting to examine – we can pat Tommy on the back for those on-the-money predictions, and we'll try hard not to hold him personally responsible for any off-the-mark rankings he made (unles...

Brady Quinn traded to Broncos for Peyton Hillis, draft picks

FFToolbox.com — Remember how far Brady Quinn fell in the 2007 NFL draft? He was deemed a steal for the Cleveland Browns. A boy from Ohio as the Browns' quarterback of the future. Everything looked perfect. But his career never really got off the ground and now he'll be looking for a fresh start in Denver. The Broncos acquired Quinn on Sunday in exchange for running back Peyton Hillis, a sixth-round draft pick in 2011 and a conditional draft pick in 2012. Quinn became expendable after Cleveland added Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme this past week. "I appreciate everything Brady did for us last year and in his...

LaDainian Tomlinson lands with Jets

FFToolbox.com — The NFL's best running back over the past decade will now be playing in the country's biggest city. The New York Jets signed LaDainian Tomlinson to a two-year contract on Sunday, winning a relatively short bidding war over the Minnesota Vikings. The deal is reportedly worth $5.2 million with another $500,000 available via incentives. Tomlinson, who will turn 31 in June, will play a complementary role to second-year runner Shonn Greene. FANTASY ANALYSIS: It would have been awesome to see Tomlinson on the same team as Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson, but the Jets are probably paying more and Tom...

Jake Delhomme joins Browns with two-year contract

FFToolbox.com — If you are an average-at-best quarterback and need to find a home in the NFL, try Cleveland. The Browns are racking them up. Their newest addition is Jake Delhomme, whom the team signed to a two-year contract on Saturday. Complete financial figures weren't immediately available, but multiple reports state Cleveland will pay Delhomme $7 million in 2010. Delhomme, 35, was cut by the Carolina Panthers last week and was scheduled to visit with the New Orleans Saints. But it looks like he signed with the Browns because they presented the best opportunity for him to start. That obviously wouldn't ha...
